What An Energy!!!

There are times in your life when you connect with a person that is on another level. Most of the time it seems to happen when you least expect it. Today was that kind day for me without a doubt. One of my most favorite personalities and conversationalists in my life and I had a nice long talk. We spoke of personal development and some of the things that were happening in his professional life. The ins and outs of leadership and what can happen when a person that works for you gets a bit too big for their britches and decides to blatantly disrespect you. The conversation a bit rough, however, he was explaining how he had to stand firm and not waiver. There were several teachable moments during this conversation to say the very least.

During the call, my good friend explained how he was raising his level in his business. We speak of higher learning, raising the bar, and doing more in our lives on every level quite frequently. He introduced me to a new mentor that he has been foll…

Personal Development Rewind

I have been reading personal development since I was about 18 or so. My first one was "Awaken The Giant Within", by Tony Robbins. It changed the way that I look at things in a big way. I still have that book in my bookshelf and it is still powerful. To this day, I still use some golden nuggets that I got from that book. It truly is incredible. For whatever reason, when I listened to what they guys said or read their words back then, I didn't realize how timeless their words would become in the future. The same principles apply today and the messages have not changed one bit.

I start each day with about 15 to 30 minutes of personal development. Usually right after I visit the little boys room, I return and press play while I make my bed and then the learning begins. I have been listening to a personal development series by a man named Brian Tracy, called "Thinking Big". When I tell you that this series of (cassettes actually) is so ridiculously powerful, I…

The Path To The Right People

Today my day began by having a conversation with a great friend of mine on the west coast. To get right to the point, we had a little talk about why people meet and how sometimes we meet people only to get connected to a person that they know. Have you ever met a person that you are seemingly connected to and then they introduce you to a friend of theirs? That seems pretty straight forward right? However, after a while, the person that you met originally falls away and does not contact you anymore? Do you wonder why or do you just have a great time with the one that respects you as you respect them? This is a brief description of what happened to me. Life can be tricky at times in that regard, as we all know.

We went back and forth on this topic and we both agreed that the universe does in fact place us in the vicinity of some people who may be a bit off balance or toxic from time to time, just to bless us with the strength and character of a completely different person. I belie…

Processing The Process

I have been in the entertainment business since I was about 17 or 18, maybe even earlier. When I think back to the beginning of my tingle for what I do, that is what I can remember, tingles. I sang and did some acting as early as grade school as I remember. The thing is that I never thought that any human being could make a living doing something that was so soothing. I watched Michael Jackson, Prince, Madonna, Lionel Richie, and so many others. They all seemed as though they just did it because they were destined to be there. I did not think that they were getting paid for it at all. That was my young mind just doing what it did at that age.

Being in a great city like NYC is its own gift. I can go on and on as to why that is true each and every day. If the energy of this city does not reach someone, it baffles me. There are so many things going on in so many ways, that it can be very overwhelming. The even more powerful thing about this, is that each and every person can find th…

Celebrate Thy Brother

Before I begin this posting, I will preface it by saying that this title can be ingested to your liking. There are many ways to connect with it. I went to an event yesterday that made me very emotional. Have you ever had that moment or series of moments that just swished everything inside of you around so much that you had to take many internal deep breaths as well as a couple of outward ones at the same time. If you have, you are human and you probably needed the cleansing.

Quite a few years ago, I met a very strong and vibrant woman through a powerful network marketing company that had quadrupled in size from then until now. She was confident, poised, funny, honest, vulnerable, authentic, and most of all very blunt. I watched her interface with anyone at any time and really look into their eyes and listen. I got along famously with her. I could tell that we were cut from the same material. I watched her, even though she probably did not realize it. I supported her side endeavo…
