The Two Way Mirror

Conversations with different people who have a different perspective on life is a very healthy thing in my opinion. I call this posting the two way mirror because you can only see yourself when you look in it, however, on the other side there are people who can see you in plain view. The question is will they ever tell you what they see and will you take it into consideration going forward.
Just to be clear, I had a conversation with someone who saw some things about me that were brought to my attention. At first it was a little bit uncomfortable, truth be told, yet I took it and processed it with patience as the conversation continued. When someone tells you that they see your strengths in ways that are 3 times as powerful as you view them, it can give you pause. What I am trying to say is that even though we think that we see ourselves fully, we can only see a small percentage of ourselves at any given time.
To be completely honest and frank, their viewpoint is just that, nothing more nothing less. So should we take a look at it and consider its validity or just let it roll off our backs? I guess that would depend on the kind of relationship that you have with them and how much you value their input. For example, have you ever been given some advice from a friend that could use the same advice on themselves at that very moment? What did you do? Did you confront them or did you take the advice and move forward. My exchange with this person was powerful because it did move me and it lubricated my brain in a big way. It caused me to look a little closer at my direction my current life and what I want to do with it.
This year will mark a special birthday for me. I am tingling inside because of all the lessons that I have learned that are finally coming into focus. The lessons are not over by any means, however, I will spend less time repeating the mistakes that lead to the lessons in the first place. Acceptance and newness are ahead of me and I am prepared to embrace them.
