Making Sense Of Mental Confusion

Have you ever been in that place where you are obviously out of balance, yet trying to make sense of it seems futile? The place where your thoughts seem to go around in circles and return to point "A" over and over again? This is when you should take the vow of silence. No not the normal vow of silence that states you don't talk to others, but one that lets you take it down to nothing but breathing in and out with eyes closed for at least 10 to 20 minutes. Shut "your" entire system down. This is where you can gain some clarity.
It is truly amazing how we give meaning to so many things that don't deserve our attention. At the drop of a hat another person can be so angry about something that we barely even noticed doing. On the other end of the spectrum, we can say something that we really meant in a positive way and it can be taken wrong and distorted completely out of proportion. As the saying goes, "It's not personal until you make it that way." I have to remain present to my thoughts or this can happen way too easily.

I read an email a few days ago that I gave meaning to in such a terrible fashion that I instantly had a pain in my stomach and proceeded to write back as passively as possible so has to mask the self induced pain. To my surprise, the person came back at me even harder than the first time! I did not reply again, however, my intentions were good from the beginning without a doubt. Emails have no inflection at all and they never will. It's just like color blind people not seeing any color, that is just the way it is. When the emotional turns to physical and you feel it, you are due for a reboot!!!

Give yourself five minutes of silence to quiet some of the noise right now.....
